Property Ownership in Oman

On February 19th 2006 His Majesty Sultan Qaboss announced through a Royal Decree that all Nationalities were to be permitted the opportunity to own freehold property in Oman.

Today, all nationalities are to be allowed to own homes in areas classified as “tourism designated areas” – locations which have been specially designated and are to be built with the requirements of multi cultural societies in mind.

Oman is likely to see tourism and holiday home ownership develop rapidly over the next few years. With a defined policy of attracting visitors seeking the very best in accommodation and hospitality, rigid regulations are in place to ensure the country retains its unique character.

If you seek high rise buildings, over development and a noisy nightlife, Oman is not for you. If you desire a home within easy reach of deserts, mountains and pristine beaches it may be just the place you are looking for.

Along with the right to own Freehold Property in Oman, residency righs are granted together with clear and favourable taxation and inheritance regulations.
